From families who came before you

The first time a taxi driver understood my directions without me repeating myself, I actually cried a little. That's Capital Mandarin.

Sarah · FranceSpoken Chinese

A welcoming atmosphere and a pace I could actually keep up with. I advanced more in a few months here than in two years at home.

Anna · GermanyImmersion

Every lesson was prepared thoughtfully. I looked forward to class, which I haven't said about any school since I was a child.

What parents ask first

Does my child need to speak Chinese before camp?

No. Campers take a short placement assessment on the first morning and join a group of four to eight at their level — complete beginners get a beginners' group, returning students pick up where they left off.

Does my child need to speak Chinese to join a local school?

No — children join with any level, including none. Younger children in particular pick up classroom Chinese remarkably fast because every hour of the day gives them a reason to use it. If you'd like support alongside the placement, our YCT and Spoken Chinese classes pair well with it.

What's the difference between the YCT and the HSK?

Same official body, different audience: the YCT is written for school-age learners — shorter papers, friendlier topics, generous pictures — across four written levels. YCT 4 overlaps the adult HSK 3, so a child who climbs the YCT ladder steps onto the HSK track with nothing wasted.

Do I need martial arts experience — or any Chinese?

Neither. Training groups are formed by level, and coaches start complete beginners from stances and basics, exactly as our language teachers start from your first placement test. Experienced martial artists get pushed at their own edge in the same session.
