Learn Chinese in Xi'an

Thirteen dynasties called Xi'an their capital. For our study-travel groups it is the history chapter come alive: the Terracotta Army, the intact Ming city wall, and street food worth learning to order in Chinese.

Why Xi'an

Where the history you study stands in front of you

Xi'an — ancient Chang'an, the eastern end of the Silk Road — was the capital of thirteen dynasties, including the Qin, Han, and Tang. The Terracotta Army guards its outskirts, and the Ming city wall still rings the old town, wide enough to cycle on.

That makes Xi'an the strongest chapter on a study-travel itinerary: the vocabulary of emperors, warriors, and trade routes learned in class in the morning is standing in front of you by afternoon. The Muslim Quarter's food streets then put your survival Chinese to delicious work.

Xi'an legs are arranged as part of our custom travel-and-study programs, planned and accompanied from our Beijing campus with local guides on the ground.
