Hantube App

Hantube is the app Capital Mandarin built for its own students: structured practice on the skills an app teaches well — characters, pinyin, vocabulary, listening, mock exams — designed to pair with live small-group classes for the skills only a human teaches.

What’s inside

Hantube organises self-study into focused modules, each doing one job well:

  • Characters — Guess (recognition through visual play), Strokes, Radicals, and Breakdown: the component-first method from our classrooms, in app form.
  • Pinyin — Alphabets and Tones, drilled until pronunciation is a habit rather than a decision.
  • Practice — character practice, word practice, listening, and reading exercises with guided review.
  • Sentences & conversation — Oral, Talk, Stories, and Travel modules: useful phrases for transport, dining, shopping, and daily life in China.
  • Mock exams — real test-style exercises for HSK and YCT, so exam day has no format surprises.

An error notebook collects what you get wrong, for you and — if you study with us — for your teacher, so review time goes exactly where it should.

The input + output loop

The app is one half of a deliberate design. Hantube gives you flexible input — preview and review on the commute, at lunch, whenever — while live online classes provide the output: speaking, correction, and problem-solving with a teacher, in small groups of four or more, two 40-minute lessons per session, scheduled between 7:00 and 22:00 Beijing time. A WeChat study group rounds it out with real-time Q&A between classes.

For schools and organisations

Hantube also runs group programs: customised course content for schools, companies, and organisations, plus a Teacher Management Platform (PC) for projecting content in class, assigning homework, and tracking every student’s progress and error notebook.

How to get it

On iPhone, search “Hantube” on the App Store; on Android, the app is installed via QR code. Before purchasing any course inside the app, email the school first to confirm the right course for your level — that’s the official flow, and it doubles as free placement advice.
